Congratulations on Retirement Wendy!

“I have experienced so many special moments, memories that I will cherish and remember. As I leave, I know I have gained so many friendships along the way. I feel blessed to have had the longevity of a fulfilling and successful career. Thank you MacCallum Law Group, you are all so special to me.” Wendy Flint

Back at the end of March, we celebrated the retirement of Wendy Flint. Few can match Wendy’s wealth of knowledge and experience in legal administration and accounting, having worked in the Langley’s legal industry for over 40 years, but it will be those “one on one Wendy chats” that we all come to love and learn from, that we will miss dearly.

Wendy’s passion for happy and healthy people, truly inspired us all. For many of us, she wasn’t just a colleague; she was a dear friend, mentor and trainer too, and filled a special spot reserved for the likes of family.

“I learned work ethics and integrity” Kelly Guiotto, Designated Paralegal

“She taught me to never limit myself to the path set ahead of me. There is always a way to improve or reimagine oneself.” Rachael MacLeod, Reception Manager

“Wendy has always taught me to believe in myself and that I could succeed at whatever I set my mind to.” Preet Bath, Accounting Support

With Wendy’s renowned love of fitness and the beauty of the outdoors, having personally completed 15 Vancouver Sun Runs and two half-marathons, everyone knew one of Wendy’s true passions was out on the green playing golf. Since there would be no fun in having her outrun us all, to tee off her retirement celebrations, two small teams of representatives from across our firm, headed out to Hi Knoll Mini Golf to play a fun, and in true MACLG style, a competitive round of mini golf. As the sun come out, our teams had a blast traversing the course in between all the laughs and for a couple of us, even hole in ones. It was a fun morning spent to mark her occasion. And at the end of it, we were thrilled Wendy’s team one won by .55 of a point.

To celebrate Wendy’s final day of work, we were inspired to enjoy a lunch that also gave back in some way, the same way Wendy has done for all of us. We invited The Taste of Heaven Food Truck, a social enterprise from NightShift Street Ministries, a non-profit organization in Surrey that feeds love, hope, purpose and nightly meals to people who are stuck in some of life’s most difficult situations – poverty, addiction, mental illness, homelessness and loneliness, to setup in our carpark. We gathered responsibly outside, distanced but joined together in our shared love and respect for Wendy. Every meal purchased at Wendy’s Retirement Lunch, has gone towards supporting NightShift’s nightly outreach and daily continuing care services for those vulnerable in our local communities.

We are beyond excited for the next chapter ahead for Wendy, her husband Tom and the Flint Family.

Wendy’s final words of wisdom?

Build a solid foundation in life, family, and career. Recognize when a friend, family member or team needs your support. Be there for them.

Wendy, thank you, and congratulations on your retirement! We wish you all the best!
