From the creative young minds of local Langley kids

The Langley Advance Times ‘Design an Ad’ feature is a special collaboration between the local media outlet and elementary schools across Langley. The feature is all about encouraging local school aged students to design ads for local businesses in a special edition.
As Sophie MacCallum, our General Manager, shares
The ‘Design an Ad’ feature is such a fun, meaningful and community orientated campaign for our firm to be a part of. For us, we like to think ‘outside the box’ and pride ourselves on providing our clients with solutions that are as unique as they are. These one of a kind works of art made just for us by local kids – champion our values entirely.
The original inspiration behind our firm getting involved was because our founder, Allen MacCallum, made us all laugh when he shared that his youngest son Tavis, while growing up in the 90’s, once described his father’s work as a Lawyer as just “being on the phone all day.”
Even better, the same son, who went to court one day to watch his father in action also said out loud “Come on all ready” to the Judge who was taking his time to read out the final decision.
Let’s face it, legal services and protocols can be pretty dry, even if it’s your own parent involved. But having kids interpret what we do, especially through their creative words and work, sparks such delight and brings nothing but smiles.
When the lovely Jane Ilott, from the Langley Advance Times team, reached out to let us know they were running the local feature and some of the most creative local young minds were going to be involved once again- we jumped at the opportunity to participate. The results exceeded our expectations. With over 20 designs to choose from – it was very hard for us to shortlist. In the end, we decided to shortlist two designs based on our own firm principles. For us, our approach to the law takes more expertise, passion, heart, and humor to do what we do and we feel both works of art reflected that in their own unique ways brilliantly.
Their incredible attention to detail, the creative vision, skillful patience, neatness, enjoyable captions, and passion for design shined through strong in both shortlisted designs. We’re incredibly proud to stand by these two works art – enormous thank you to the artists Natalie, Grade 4, and Eric, Grade 5, behind them.
