Spring Skate Fundraiser

Spring Skate Fundraiser

Posted on 21.03.2022

Last week our MacLG clan celebrated our first spring break skate with family and friends. We had skaters of all ages (and levels) enjoy ice time while also helping our firm raise money for a special local cause.

From team members whizzing around gracefully to Derian’s fun playlist, parents patiently building skating confidence with their young skaters, Allen and Matt taking on the kids in a game of shinny, and the enthusiastic efforts of team members hailing from opposite sides of the world give skating a whirl- our ice time had it all.

All funds raised from entry fees were matched by our firm, and 100% of proceeds donated to Langley’s The Salvation Army Gateway of Hope’s School Supplies program.

Within just a couple minutes of meeting Nicholas Ivey, Fundraising Coordinator, and Andréa Voss, Family Services Coordinator, from the @gatewayofhope_langley team, we knew we had found a great cause to support with our event. Listening to their stories of incredible vision, dedication and hard work to bring programs like this to life was a special experience. They’re helping to make a real difference for individuals, families and children in Langley.

We look forward to future opportunities partnering with The Gateway of Hope team, and to see our clan in action at the rink again soon. All of our skaters, spectators and supporters made for a memorable event!

Thanks to Mitch Nurse for sharing a few photos with us while out on the ice getting some footage. Too many to share but here are a few of our family favourites.
