Allen began his successful law career articling and practicing with Thompson & McConnell in White Rock, where he practiced in criminal and civil litigation matters. He went on to join fellow UBC classmates at Forbes Nielsen, building his practice in land, estate planning, and business law matters. In 1984, the Langley-based partners at Forbes Nielsen decided to create the partnership known as MacCallum McIntyre, and Allen later established MacCallum Law Group LLP in 2008. In 2012, Allen oversaw MacCallum Law Group’s merger with Bryenton Associates, and in 2017, with Severide, Staplin and Gamlin, one of Langley’s oldest law firms.
Outside of the office, Allen is a keen hockey player. He plays every Friday morning with a group of business partners, clients, and his two sons – a tradition that started over thirty-five years ago. He also enjoys taking the time to relax in White Rock, where he and his wife Evie have lived since 1974.
